Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors

- Did you know that since 1976 it became the norm for homes to have smoke detectors and it wasn't until about 2011 that carbon monoxide detectors became a requirement for most municipalities.

Why should you care, right?

Carbon monoxide or CO detectors alert you of the presence or high concentrations of carbon monoxide, exhaust gas from your car, natural gas or propane. When these levels get too high you can experience nausea, headaches or vomiting. Smoke detectors alert you of smoke or a potential fire in your home and have gotten a bad wrap because of the annoying chirp or beep, prompting may renters and home owners from pulling it off the wall, ceiling or just removing the batteries.

This is an awful idea because its there to warn you of the potential of smoke, a fire or both! Batteries are supposed to replaced every six months in smoke and/ or carbon monoxide detectors and the devices, for safety, every 10 years regardless if it is battery powered or hardwired.

Jonny's Home Services LLC gives you the piece of mind by offering replacement of your smoke detector and carbon monoxide batteries in your home, rental(s), AirBnB or anywhere you have them present, every six months and can replace the devices if they are past their useful life. We are proud to offer a subscription plan where every 6 months, we will come to your home and replace the batteries on all the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. We also offer single visit battery replacement and home owner training for DIY replacement.

(Subscription battery replacement is a single rate for all devices, twice a year. Rates vary based on number of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in your space. Volume discounts can include as few as 2 devices. Even if using rechargeable batteries it is still recommended every six month to 1 year to replace these batteries. We only use brand new out of the box 9v or AA alkaline batteries, which ever your device requires and we responsibly recycle discarded batteries.
